CoSORT's leadership in data warehouse performance has its roots in parallel sorting. CoSORT became directly involved in decision support systems in 1992 with the development of its sort control language (SortCL) -- a popular 4th generation DDL/DML for flat-file data integration and staging, mainframe sort migration and report generation. Since then, CoSORT's SortCL has played a major role as an "ETL engine" in many of the world's largest operational data stores (ODS) and data warehouses via combinatory, single-pass transformations of very large database (VLDB) extracts and mainframe flat- files, and through rapid pre-sorts that speed loads. CoSORT's parallel sorts and joins have been occurring outside of leading ETL tools like DataStage as well.
But now, a multi-year partnership with Ascential Software's leading technologists has resulted in the direct integration of CoSORT's SMP sort engine inside the DataStage XE Suite. The optional upgrade to the CoSORT PlugIn dramatically accelerates the ETL (Extraction/Transformation/Loading) processing of massive amounts of data -- from legacy mainframe files to web server logs -- leading to faster, better decision making.
Here is an example from DataStage Designer:

The CoSORT Plug-In's interface uses familiar DataStage grid parameters:

For performance tuning on busy servers, advanced users can exploit all of CoSORT's normally available SMP resource controls:
