20/02/2007 - Easirun Provides COSORT Training to Telkomsel - Indonesia's Largest Cellular Telecomunications Provider

Easirun Australia, in cooperatioin with Solusi 247 (Indonesia), recently hosted a CoSORT Training course in Australia to delegates from Telkomsel. With over 35 million customers, Telkomsel is Indonesia's largest cellular communications provider. Telkomsel processes over 8 terabytes of data per month and as such need the fastest ETL, data sorting, aggregation and reporting methods available. As a result of the training, the Telkomsel delegates are now well placed to replace a number of Oracle processes and reports that simply take too long in Oracle.

Due to the excellent outcomes from this training, Telkomsel and Solusi 247 have already started to organise another 6 delegates to undertake a similar Easirun CoSORT training course in Australia later this year.

SMP Sort and Data Warehouse Software for the New AS/400 - IRI's flagship data sorting and ETL (extract, transform, load) package, CoSORT, is now available on IBM eServer iSeries running the OS/400 V5R1 Portable Applications Solutions Environment (OS/400 PASE). CoSORT developers and end-users can now exploit the copper and silicon-on-insulator processors, dynamic logical partitioning and robust system availability of IBM's integrated business server as they integrate and stage data warehouses and generate reports. CoSORT was also recently ported to, and is now available for, Turbolinux and SuSE Linux on IBM eServer iSeries. "IBM eServer iSeries users have requested our high-volume e-business sort package and we have responded", observed IRI Business Development VP David Friedland. "CoSORT is excited about introducing its open systems sort and ETL solutions to the iSeries database and data warehouse/webhouse communities. We will work with MIS directors and data architects -- both in corporate application development and ISV capacities -- to speed high volume sorts, loads and data transformations on the next generation AS/400."

10/09/2001 - Linux CoSORT Ships on IBM eServer iSeries

CoSORT enables developers and end-users running Linux distributions from SuSE Linux or Turbolinux on IBM eServer iSeries to fully exploit inherent parallel processing, large file I/O, and internet-related data webhousing capabilities, using its powerful symmetric multi-processor (SMP) engine and 4GL language, SortCL.

"As the world's first commercial sort developer for Unix, IRI continues its tradition of leading-edge platform support," observed IRI Business Development VP David Friedland. "Linux CoSORT on IBM eServer iSeries creates sort-related development opportunities for application programmers and fully scalable sort and join performance in load staging and report generation for data warehouse architects."
